Massage Therapy is a healing touch and one of the oldest healing therapies.
Did you know that muscles have memory? That sometimes we "train" our bodies, unknowlingly to have certain postural holding patterns. Women, for example typically carry a heavy purse on one shoulder the majority of the time. To keep the shoulder strap on, the shoulder is hiked up. This becomes habit and before you know it, one shoulder is higher than the other. Men, on the other hand, typically sit on a fat wallet. This misaligns the hips often causing back or shooting leg pains.
Other conditions affect our bodies as well. We all know that an automobile or sports accident can cause whiplash and/or low back pain. But whooping cough or severe vomiting can leave muscles hurting, too. Medical conditions like Parkinsons, Muscular Sclerosis, PTSD and Fibromyalgia all are very hard and unforgiving on one's body. Massage therapy can help alleviate pain and give a sense of renewal, even if just for a period of time.
Incorporates a number of advanced bodywork modalities to personalize your session. It may include, but is not limited to: deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, cupping, dry exfloliation, trigger point, cranial sacral, thai yoga massage, structural bodywork, muscle energy techniques, stretching, range of motion and of course swedish.
First, I will talk to see what you are looking for in your bodywork session. From nice, easy and relaxing, to a very deep therapeutic session or anything in between. I will pull from my tool box of modalities and experience to customize your session per our conversation. $35(30min) $70(60min) $95(90min)
Cupping can be used to move stagnation, relieve inflammation, and drain/move (edema) fluids. This modality can be used to lift and stretch soft tissue (muscle, fascia/connective, attachments), separate fused tissue layers (i.e. ITB and TFL and cellulite), release and soften scar tissue, open body drainage systems to aid in detoxification and decongesting "solid bloat" and increase hydration of tissues. $90(60min)
A massage regime - not a "facial" (although it does include a cleanse, exfoliation and hot moist towels.) Most clients consider their first session a new and unique experience. The sessions are pleasant, enjoyable and very relaxing. This is a detailed massage therapy protocol that:
50 min session $60
Rejuvenating Facelift & 60 min Custom Massage Package $125
Best of both worlds!
******
Deluxe Rejuvenating Facelift & 60 min Custom Massage Package $145
Full body dry exfoliation, hydrating foot treatment with deep exfloiation, hydrating hand treatment and soothing eye treatment are added to this very relaxing treatment package
~Frequently Asked Questions~
How often should I receive a massage?
For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be necessary if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic muscle tightness that is interfering with daily activity.
Must I be completely undressed?
You should only undress to your desired level of comfort. About half of our clients prefer to be completely undressed while the other half prefer to keep their undergarmets on.
Will there be any pain or discomfort?
We don't necessarily need to go deep on painful tissues to relieve muscle tightness, but sometimes even light strokes or flushing of tissues can be painful. It is not that we are intentionally inflicting pain, but instead are exposing the pain within your muscle tissue. By working these areas, recovery can begin as can a new sense of ease and relaxation.
